Asantehe Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has directed the Board and Management of Asante Kotoko to be dissolved following the end of their tenure.
The term of office of the board and management ended last month with Manhyia, under the directive of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu dissolving them following what was a tough season at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
Kotoku finished fourth on the Ghana Premier League table last season, eight points behind winners Medeama Sporting Club.
They also failed to make the final of the MTN FA Cup which was eventually won by Dreams Football Club.
Following the dissolution of the board and management teams, the club is set to undergo a restructuring ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Kotoko’s board was unveiled in June 2020 to help the club return to its glory days. The 12-member board during its tenure led the club to clinch the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.
It consisted of Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei, Vice Chairman Mr Jude Arthur, Kwadwo Boateng Gyamfi, Kwasi Osei Ofori, Alhaji Lamin, Lawyer Kwamena Mensah, Joseph Yaw Addo, Miss Evelyn Nsiah, Baffour Kwame Kusi, Mr Kofi Amoah Abban, Mr Martin Osei Kwaku Brobbey and Mr James Osei Brown.
The management team, which is led by Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nana Yaw Amponsah has also been dissolved.
Manhyia is expected to unveil a new Board and Management team in the coming days.
Dr. Kwaku Oteng, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Angel Group of Companies has been mentioned as one of the names to takeover from Dr Kwame Kyei, according to reports.
