The US is pausing military aid to Ukraine, a White House official confirms to the BBC’s US partner CBS News.

“We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution,” the official says.

This is a major escalation between the US and Ukraine – and will heap more pressure on Zelensky, our North America editor Sarah Smith writes.
