Restore GN Bank license to shareholders – Former employees appeal to gov’t

Former staff of GN Savings and Loans Company have appealed to government to, as a matter of urgency restore the licence of the bank to the shareholders.

Meanwhile,  have petitioned the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, the National Chief Imam, and Asantehene to use their good offices to intervene on their behalf.

The former staff of the bank made the appeal at a press conference in Accra on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 during the commemoration of the 4th anniversary of the revocation of the licence of GN Savings and Loans company.

It will be recalls that the Bank of Ghana on August 16, 2019 revoked the licence of  GN Bank over an alleged insolvency issue.

Mr Kofi Ofosu, former Eastern Regional  Manager of  the bank in his address to the media noted  that collapse of the bank had brought untold hardship on many families leaving some dead and sick .

He recounted the contribution of the bank to the growth of the country’s economy when it was in operation.

According to him, the return of  GN Savings and Loans would help resuscitate  the country’s ailing economy.

He lamented the suffering many of the former employees of the bank including their dependents were going through.  To this end , they have further appealed to President Akufo-Addo to reconsider his decision.

    I would like members of the PPP to vote with the NDC so that NPP is in the minority and NDC wins the Presidency.
