Prof. Frimpong-Boateng replies Lawyer Kwabla Dogbe Senanu

Dear Mr. Kwabla Dogbe Senanu, you may be a good lawyer considering your areas of expertise, namely: Corporate Law, Energy, labour, Employment law and HUMAN RIGHTS LAW.  As a Human Rights lawyer; considering the contents of your post concerning the late Victor Selormey, yourself and me in your Instagram post of 17th February, 2025, it appears to me that you are a terrible Human Rights lawyer whose understanding of ethics and human dignity is below freezing point.

As a senior lawyer called to the Ghana Bar in 1986, I would not be wrong to say that you have breached the Ethics of your profession by your undignified act of disclosing matters relating to the health of your client on the altar of political expediency although all that you said were false.

One would have been inclined to pardon you but for the falsehood peddled by you concerning the health of the deceased Selormey, the reputation of the Cardiothoracic Centre and my own reputation.

On the grounds of ethics and respect for the dead, I decline the invitation to disclose the ailment that plagued Victor on the grounds of doctor-client confidentiality, although you have failed to adhere to your lawyer-client confidentiality. Be that as it may, your description of the state of health and all matters regarding Victor Selormey and matters relating thereto are FALSE AND UNTRUE.

I am not also going to make any statement about the illness of Victor Selormey, firstly out of respect for his dignity and secondly, I don’t have the permission of his family to disclose any information about his ailments.

Suffice it to say that, contrary to your allegations, I was not involved in any way during the trial of Mr. Selormey at the Fast Track High Court. Also, Mr. Senanu, I don’t remember having met you anywhere or received, or “turned down the cross-border referral of the case to the USA”.

All the nonsense about bleeding from pacemaker and the passage of bucket full of some bodily fluids are effusions from an evil, ignorant and an insensitive individual with a rotten cerebral cortex.

Why do you accuse me falsely and then paint me with a broad political brush, describing me as a leading member of the NPP when the matters under reference relate to medical treatment offered by the Cardio Thoracic Centre. This is not only an attack on me, but all the doctors, nurses and health personnel who worked hard to improve the health of Mr Serlormey to make his life as comfortable as possible at the Centre. If politics has separated you from your senses and legal training, please seek help.

For your information Victor Selormey and I were contemporaries in Commonwealth Hall, University of Ghana. We knew each other since the year 1968. He was a V-mate, and I hope you understand and appreciate the bonds that exist among V-mates.

While in prison, Mr. Selormey was brought to the Centre for treatment. He was accorded the best of treatment by the Centre then led by me, a “V-mate”. A special side ward was earmarked for him under my watch any time he was brought to the hospital to ensure his comfort and dignity. I am sure relatives of Victor will bear me out that he spent a big chunk of his prison time on admission at the Cardiothoracic Centre with my encouragement.  It is therefore puzzling that you accuse the Centre of shirking its duties to Mr. Selormey and myself of not abiding by the tenets of my Hippocratic Oath.

I never held any grudge against my V-mate, and this is demonstrated by the fact that I personally petitioned President Kufuor to grant him Presidential pardon. This is one of the many things I did for my friend. At no time did I obstruct his treatment or worked against his wish to travel to the USA. I hold you, Lawyer Senanu to strict proof of your fabrications.

If my information is right reading from the Daily Graphic Online of 8th April 2013, I hope the effects of the spiritual attacks described by you in the publication where you alluded to the rather unsettling vision of a hippopotamus lifting your bed into the air after which encounter you have fallen asleep in many odd places including the Supreme Court of Ghana, have worn off.

The contents of your concocted stories about the passing away of a friend like Victor Selormey in your social media post however gives me grave concern as it appears that the effect of this “spiritual attack” is still with you. Obviously, your deliverance through Prophet T.B. Joshua at the Synagogue Church of All Nations in Lagos did not help much.

From my perspective, often, some things that are given spiritual connotations are but common psychological or sometimes mental issues that can be easily resolved. Therefore do seek help.

In conclusion, I demand that you retract the false and unsavoury statements published about me in your ill-advised political post.
