Governance expert, Professor Baffour Agyeman-Dua says he is now convinced that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is allergic to change.
The former UN Advisor on Good Governance and co- founder of CDD-Ghana noted that the failure of President Akufo-Addo to use the recent resignations in his government to reshuffle his ministers after numerous calls on him to do that had confirmed his suspicion that Mr Akufo-Addo by nature abhors change.
President Akufo-Addo last week made some changes in his government a month after former Trade Minister, Alan Kyerematen and Agric Minister Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto resigned to focus on their respective political campaigns.
Commenting on the replacements on Saturday, February 11, 2023 on ATV’s political show, ‘Kanawu’, Prof. Agyeman-Dua said, the president had missed a nice opportunity to do what many Ghanaians wanted him to do.
According to the governance expert, it was a good opportunity but, “he has missed it”.
To this end, he advised Ghanaians not to worry themselves about any reshuffle as president Akufo-Addo has shown that he is against reshuffling.
Concerning the replacement of the vacant positions in government, he said, Ghanaians should give the president the benefit of the doubt since he knew their capabilities.
