‘Half of our population to be vaccinated by 2021’

Director-General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) , Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye says Ghana is expected to receive more than 18 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccines within the last 3 months of 2021.

Giving a breakdown of the vaccines at a media briefing in Accra, Dr. Kumah Aboagye said the consignment consists of 834,720 doses of AstraZeneca, more than 1million of Pfizer and about 16 million Johnson and Johnson vaccines.

He said with these consignments coming into the pool, government was hopeful of vaccinating more than half of its population to achieve herd immunity.
