Story: Atta Kwaku Boadi

Groupe Nduom (GN), a multinational conglomerate has held its annual mid-year retreat in Elmina in the Central region to consider results posted during the first half of the year.

The three days retreat brought together top management personnel of the Groupe

The session was to enable management consider available opportunities and challenges during the second half of the year.

Welcoming the managers to the retreat,  the Chairman of Groupe Nduom, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom noted that the Groupe Nduom brand was unique in  its way, urging the attendees  to focus more on successes instead of allowing the challenges they face  overshadow them.

Although he acknowledged the difficulties some of the companies were going through, he, however, further urged them not to give up but press on , saying  there was a light at the end of the tunnel.

“GN is a global brand and nothing can change that. We are unique in our own way, and that is why I am proud being associated with this brand”, he said.

Dr Nduom also noted that some of the GN companies were doing well despite the challenges they faced.

He used the occasion to advise the managers to prioritise investments on behalf of the companies they head so that in times of trouble they would not be found wanting.

He was hopeful that the Groupe would pick up their pieces together and bounce back.

Earlier, speaking on the theme; “No excuses: Action, Accessibility, and Absolutely Beyond Excellence”,  the President of Groupe Nduom Ghana, Dr Nana Kweku Nduom inspired the managers to give out their best in everything they do for the companies they head.

“We must avoid excuses in whatever we do and focus only on results”, he said.

“Many people gave up on us after what happened to us, but here we are doing great, and I am confident that if  we continue on this path and probably add a little to what we are doing no one can beat us”, he added.

At its strategy meeting in Elmina early this year, Groupe Nduom managers  were  charged to  deliver results and not excuses.

Like the previous meeting, Groupe management members made  presentations on how far their sales strategies had worked; how they had overcome their challenges,( as the case may be for those who could not meet their first quarter targets); and present practical solutions that would  overcome any such challenges this year.

Part of the year’s business agenda was to ensure that management improves  performance to beat last year’s results. That target in the estimation of Groupe Nduom managers could  only be achieved through a consistent sales strategy.

Notwithstanding the economic difficulties that confronted the country, Groupe Nduom was continuously investing and demonstrating its confidence in the Ghanaian economy. Such feat was achieved through the Groupe’s guiding principles of ensuring discipline, innovation and enthusiasm on the job.  Groupe Nduom prides itself about its determination to be a “Best Employer”.

Groupe Nduom has business relationships in Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire, Togo, the United Kingdom and the USA.  Groupe Nduom brands have been in existence over the past 25 years and operate in Banking, Investments Banking, Private Equity, Brokerage, Pension, Insurance, Real Estates, Media, Education, Manufacturing, Printing, Advertising & Production, Sport and a Foundation that supports the needy in society.
