The 2020 flagbearer of Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Brigitte Dzogbenuku has called on Ghanaians to join hands with her party in 2024 to rescue the country from the current administration.

She noted that,  Ghanaians wanted a third force to take over the reins of governance but were not ready to team up with them to bring that change.

According to her, winning power sometimes goes beyond having resources. “Sometimes you need different ideas from people who believe in your policies to back you”, she said.

Madam Dzogbenuku made these observations on Saturday, February 18, 2023 when she appeared on ATV’s political show ‘Kanawu’.

She blamed both the ruling  government (NPP)  and the largest opposition party (NDC) for  making life unbearable for many Ghanaians.

According to her, both parties having had the opportunity to govern this country since 1992 have failed to make judicious use of the country’s natural resources to the benefit of the citizenry.

“The two leading parties cannot help us. It’s high time we changed them, but that will depend on all of us”, she said.

Touching on the NPP’s government, the PPP’s stalwart said, the government had not been truthful to Ghanaians considering the promises the party made prior to the 2016 elections which brought it to power.

She did not understand for instance, why the government kept using covid-19 and Russia –Ukraine war as an excuse for the economic recession.

“ We are not the only people who were affected by the  pandemic and the war so why the excuses all the time”, she quizzed?
