Coconut Grove  Beach Resort honours employees at  annual dinner dance

The management  of Coconut Grove Beach Resort has held its annual dinner dance   in Elmina in the Central Region of Ghana . 

The annual event,  which has run for the past 30 years , according to the management of the hotel  is to show  their appreciation to their  hardworking staff where deserving employees are recognized for their contributions  to the success of the company.

 A gril cook, Jorome Bataah, assigned to the Food and Beverage Department of the hotel  emerged as the  Best 2023   Employee of the Year. He received  GHS 3,000 cash,  a citation  and a two-night stay  full board at a plush  four-star hotel as his prize.  A laundry steward, Roland Oti working with the Housekeeping Department of  the hotel   who  was the first runner-up also had GHC 2,000  cash, a citation and a dinner for two persons as his prize, while the  second runner-up, James Afful, a gardener received GHc1,500.00 cash, a citation and dinner for 2 persons.

Twenty (20)  other employees were also awarded  with cash  sums of GHc500.00 each.  Other awards also  included  gift hampers and Melcom gift vouchers sponsored by GT Bank, Cape Coast branch.

A sendoff  party  was  also  held for John Arhin, an employee who had  served the company for 20 years. He was  given an  undisclosed sum of money and a citation for his outstanding service to the company.

Addressing the directors, staff and invited guests, the General Manager of the hotel, Mr. Victor Opoku Minta, lauded the initiative of rewarding employees  for their hard work and dedication. “This dedication and loyalty is evident in the fact that some of our employees have been working with us for 30 years, which is laudable”, he said.

He added: “As we celebrate our 30th Anniversary in December 2024, we are poised to continue to offer our distinguished clients the best of memories worth repeating. He used the occasion  to also  thank  all  clients who patronize their services saying,  “we won’t be in business without you so we are truly grateful for your loyalty over the years years”.

Mr. Minta also  thanked Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom and Mrs. Yvonne Nduom, Global Chairman  of Groupe Nduom and Board Chairperson of Coconut Grove Hotels respectively, for taking time out of their busy schedule to join the event as well as  the numerous investments they have made in the company  which have  brought immense benefits to the  Ghanaian economy.
