Chinese President congratulates Mahama

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday, December 11, congratulated President-elect John Dramani Mahama on his victory in the December 7 polls.

He reiterated Ghana’s strategic partnership with China, being one of the first countries in sub-Saharan Africa to establish diplomatic ties with the country.

He said the China-Ghana friendship had a long history, which had been strengthened over time.

In recent years, bilateral relations between the two countries have enjoyed a sound momentum of development, with fruitful practical cooperation in various fields.

President Xi said he attached great importance to the development of China-Ghana relations and stood ready to work with President-elect John Mahama to carry forward the traditional friendship.

That would help deepen political mutual trust and promote the China-Ghana strategic partnership to be deeper and more solid to bring more benefits to the two nations.
