President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has inaugurated the 120-bed Fomena Hospital project in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region, marking the end of a prolonged delay in its completion.
The project, which was initiated in 2014, faced multiple postponements due to funding issues, leading to concerns from residents of the Adansi Traditional Area who urged authorities to ensure its completion.
At the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday, President Akufo-Addo emphasised that the completion of the hospital was a testament to the government’s commitment to providing modern health facilities in accordance with current healthcare standards nationwide.
He further indicated that similar hospital projects had been successfully completed in Kumawu, Fomena, and Takoradi.
President Akufo-Addo reassured that the government was on track to complete several other projects by the end of the year.
He added that these “efforts align with our commitments to achieving universal health coverage and guarantee improved and more efficient health care for all Ghanaians.”
