NDC suspends member over misconduct

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended Kpeli Worlase, a member of the Afram Plains North Constituency in the Eastern Region, citing various acts of misconduct.

The suspension, effective immediately, was announced in a statement issued by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey.

The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the NDC highlighted several allegations against Mr Worlase, including accusations of campaigning against the party’s Parliamentary candidate and other forms of anti-party activities in the constituency.

“At its meeting on the 23rd of July, 2024, FEC deliberated on the matter and decided to suspend you from the party pursuant to Article 48 of the Party’s constitution,” the statement said.

The decision was made after a thorough review of the accusations.

The party has referred the case to the National Disciplinary Committee for further investigation and adjudication.

“The Disciplinary Committee will invite you for a hearing, and it will be in your best interest to avail yourself for adjudication to enable the Committee to submit a report with recommendations to FEC for further action,” Kwetey added.

Mr. Worlase’s suspension underscores the NDC’s commitment to maintaining discipline and unity within the party ranks, ensuring that all members adhere to the party’s principles and regulations.
