Afrobeat sensation King Promise emerged as the biggest winner at the 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
He clinched the coveted Artiste of the Year title in a night filled with glamour, electrifying performances, and heartfelt tributes to Ghana’s music legends.
The event, held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, May 10, saw King Promise beat stiff competition from Stonebwoy, Black Sheriff, Kwaku Smoke, King Paluta, Joe Mettle, and Gospel group Team Eternity. He took home the top honour.
Other winners of other categories included Beeztrom Kotm, who won the Best New Artiste of the Year, and Stonebowy, who won the Best Reggae/ Dancehall Artiste of the Year.

Congratulations to Promise on his well-deserved win! It’s fantastic to see Ghanaian artists celebrated. While Promise undoubtedly had a strong year, the selection process for Artiste of the Year can be subjective, and some felt other artists, with broader appeal, might have been more fitting this year. Perhaps differing opinions stem from a lack of clearly defined judging criteria? bad parenting
