Story: News Desk

The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has published a list of 50 tertiary institutions deemed unrecognised by the Commission.

According to the publication, the United States accounts for the highest number, with 24 institutions listed as unaccredited.

Ghana follows with five, while India has four.

Other countries with institutions on the list include Italy, Costa Rica, Germany, Nigeria, and the United Kingdom, among others.

GTEC cautioned the public to verify the accreditation status of any tertiary institution before enrolling, emphasising that qualifications obtained from unrecognised institutions would not be accepted for academic or professional purposes in Ghana.
