Ghana Police Service interdicts two officers for extorting money from motor rider

The Ghana Police Service has interdicted two police officers, Lance Corporal Philimon Agbevem and Lance Corporal Peter Gbadagbo, for allegedly extorting money from a motor pillion rider in Accra.

The incident reportedly occurred on July 22, 2024.

According to a brief police statement, the two officers were placed under immediate investigation on August 9, 2024, after the allegations, which went viral, caught the attention of police leadership.

A statement also confirmed that the officers were  currently assisting with the investigation and will undergo the due process of the law.
