Baba Yara Stadium closed down for AFCON qualifiers

The Baba Yara Sports Stadium will not be available for domestic competitions until after Ghana’s AFCON Qualifier against Angola.

This decision was reached following a meeting with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Sports Authority and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) yesterday .

This is to give managers of the pitch enough time to improve the quality of the pitch for Ghana’s upcoming comes.

The Black Stars will host Angola on Thursday, March 23 before the Black Meteors battle Algeria in the 2nd leg of the final qualifier for the U-23 AFCON on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

The only match to be affected by this decision is the Matchday 21 betPawa Premier League fixture between Asante Kotoko and King Faisal.
