Akufo-Addo appoints Deputy Chief of Staff as Ambassador-at-Large

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed three new Ambassadors, including Deputy Chief of Staff Fawaz Aliu, who will serve as Ambassador-At-Large in addition to his current role.

The appointments were announced during a ceremony at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, August 7.

Major General Charles Kojo Abedi Awity has been named Ghana’s Ambassador to Serbia, while Mr. Peprah Ampratwum will serve as Ambassador in situ, a role that involves being consistently present and actively involved in key events and decision-making processes.

President Akufo-Addo expressed confidence in the appointees’ ability to excel in their new roles and strengthen Ghana’s diplomatic efforts worldwide.

He charged them with deepening ties between Ghana and other countries and connecting Ghana to investment opportunities.

Major General Abedi pledged to serve Ghana in an exemplary manner on behalf of his colleagues.

This latest appointment comes two months after the Executive Secretary to the Presidency, Nana Bediatuo Asante, was appointed Ambassador-at-Large.
