Turning Social Media into Business Growth: The XclusiveKobb Story

Story: Kukua Snead Michaels

At just 31 years old, John Judah Praise has successfully blended entrepreneurship, social media and skills development to build XclusiveKobb, a Ghanaian brand that is helping businesses strengthen their identity while creating opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Speaking to ATV News, the founder of XclusiveKobb said the business, established in 2020, has grown from customising T-shirts and caps into supplying apparel printing equipment and training individuals to start their own branding businesses.

John, who holds a Diploma in Business Management and a Diploma in Purchasing and Supply, is also a military officer. He said consistency and creating value have been central to the company’s growth.

The entrepreneur explained that although he started the business in 2020, it was his decision to consistently post educational and behind-the-scenes videos on TikTok that transformed the business.

“I realised social media wasn’t just for entertainment. People were watching, asking questions, placing orders, buying equipment and enrolling in our training programmes,” he said.

Today, XclusiveKobb’s TikTok page has grown to more than 81,000 followers, over 507,000 likes and millions of video views, with much of the company’s enquiries now coming through social media.
According to him, success online is built on trust rather than virality.

“Views don’t pay the bills—trust does. When people consistently see the quality of your work and learn from your content, they become confident in doing business with you,” he noted.

Looking ahead, John believes social commerce will continue to grow rapidly in Ghana and urged young entrepreneurs to start with the resources they have instead of waiting for perfect conditions.

“What keeps me going is the impact. Every time someone I’ve trained starts earning from the skills they learned through XclusiveKobb, it reminds me why I started. Success is not just about growing my business—it’s about helping others build theirs too,” he said.
