As the media landscape undergoes a seismic shift driven by automation, GN Media has taken a proactive stance to ensure its workforce remains at the cutting edge.

The media conglomerate on Saturday, February 7, 2026 organised a one-day intensive training programme for its editorial and technical staff, focusing on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and journalistic integrity.

The training  was  aimed to demystify AI tools while reinforcing the core values of traditional reporting.

The training kicked off with practical sessions on how AI can enhance efficiency without compromising quality. Staff were taken through  Automated Transcription,  Data Analysis  Content Optimization.

However, the tone of the workshop remained cautious. Resource persons  emphasized that while AI was  a powerful assistant, it lacked  the human intuition and contextual empathy required for high-stakes storytelling.

A significant portion of the training  was dedicated to the growing threat of  “non-ethical” practices in the age of deepfakes and algorithmic bias.

“AI is a tool, not a replacement for a conscience,” one of the resource persons, Dr Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku said.

The training is part of a broader initiative at GN Media. By the end of the first  quarter, the organization plans to implement a formal AI Ethics Policy, which will serve as a handbook for all employees using generative technology in their daily workflows.

Through this initiative, GN Media isn’t just surviving the tech evolution—it’s aiming to lead it with a  “people-first” philosophy.
