Bodies of helicopter crash victims deposited at 37 Military Hospital

The Ghana Armed Forces has confirmed that the bodies of all eight victims of Wednesday’s fatal Z-9 military helicopter crash have been flown to Accra and deposited at the 37 Military Hospital in preparation for interment.

The remains, recovered from the crash site near Sikaman in the Adansi Akrofuom area of the Ashanti Region, arrived aboard a Ghana Air Force Casa aircraft on the afternoon of August 6, 2025.

A solemn reception was held at the Air Force Base in Accra, where the Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Julius Debrah, led government officials, the Military High Command, and well-wishers to receive the fallen.

In a statement signed by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations, the Ghana Armed Forces expressed gratitude to the people of Sikaman and all security agencies who supported the recovery efforts.

The statement also extended heartfelt condolences from the Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Brogya Genfi, and the Military High Command to the families of the deceased during what it described as a “difficult national tragedy.”
