Fire destroys  Katnamanto  Market

Hundreds of traders have been displaced following a devastating fire that engulfed Kantamanto Market in Accra’s Central Business District, reducing nearly the entire market to ashes.

The blaze, which erupted late last night, left widespread destruction, with traders scrambling to salvage their goods as the flames rapidly spread.

The Ghana National Fire Service deployed fire tenders and equipment from across the Greater Accra Region in a bid to bring the inferno under control.

Firefighters described the incident as unprecedented in scale, with large sections of the market consumed despite their concerted efforts.

Desperate traders and eyewitnesses joined the battle to extinguish the flames, but the intensity of the fire overwhelmed their attempts, leaving behind scenes of anguish and despair.
