Owner of Nana Saka Nkansah II Orphanage/School located at Ashanti Manpong in the Ashanti region, Nana Agyeiwaa Kodie is calling on well meaning Ghanaians both home and abroad to come to her aid in other to take care of about 30 Orphans she is currently taking care of.
According to Nana Kodie, her sole supporter in terms of finances and material support, His Excellency Former President John Agyekum Kufour is not forthcoming as it used to be because he (Mr Kufour) is now aged.
She hinted that she is currently facing some financial difficulties as her monthly pension pay of Ghc1000 cannot support the upkeep of the 30 Orphans in her custody.
Nana Kodie made the call when Zoomlion Foundation donated bags of rice, a cartoon of oil, toiletries, Veronica Buckets, bust bins, washing bowls, and exercise books to the orphanage and the school yesterday at Ashanti Manpong.
According to the owner of Nana Saka Nkansah II Orphanage and school, her aim for the children at the orphanage is for them to become engineers, and other tradesmen thus her appeal for technical, vocational materials, and financial support.
“My headache now is that four of the children are going to Senior High School (SHS) and there is no support from anywhere.
You see even though SHS is free, the girls need some personal stuff to keep them in school or from engaging in social vices.
These children will need; sanitary pads, provisions, clothing and other basic things but there is no helping hand coming from anywhere. I know it will be very difficult for them but I believe God will intervene”. She explained.
Nana Kodie who couldn’t hide her joy after receiving the donations, thanked Zoomlion Foundation for the organization’s kind gesture.
Presenting the items to the Owner of Nana Saka Nkansah II Orphanage and School, Head of Coorporate Social Responsibility of the Zoomlion company limited, Mr
Thomas Korley said his outfit has the interests of children especially in the area of sanitation and hygiene hence the donation to ensure that the children remain in a serene environment.
According to him, the Zoomlion Foundation has been in the for front of championing good hygiene and sanitation practices among school children and will do all it can to ensure that the right Sanitation and Hygiene facilities are available to the students to learn under a sound conducive environment.
He also added his voice to the call by Nana Kodie for other private organizations, individuals and faith based groups to support the less privilege children like those at Nana Saka Nkansah II Orphanage and school.
