The Rt Hon Speaker of Parliament, Mr Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has admonished Members of Parliament (MPs), especially the first time MPs to take Parliamentary work serious as Ghanaians are expecting so much from them at this crucial time where all eye are on Parliament.
Our people are expecting so much from us and we can not fail them and the world at Large. He reiterated.
“As representative of the people, their interest must be the ultimate goal and that should be ur focus as me Members of Parliament and therefore should do everything possible to pursue that course instead of seeking our partisan political interest as NPP or NDC” the Rt Hon Speaker sounded the caution when he was addressing first time MPs at orientation workshop held at the Aqua Safari hotel in Ada last Saturday.
Meanwhile the minority leader, Mr Haruna Iddrisu has re-assured that, the NDC Caucus in the August House would not be a hindrance to President Akufo-Addo’s led government by rejecting all his proposals, bills, contracts or anything that is in the interest of Ghanaians.
He said, the development of the country and Ghanaians welfare is what is paramount to them.
All that we want and are interested in is to ensure that the right things are done, our laws are respected by the president and his appointees, when the rights and interest of Ghanaians are served first, no one would be an obstacle to development in President Akufo-Addo’s administration.
However, some first time MPs share their short experience and observations in the house at the workshop with the media.
