‘We’ll continue to hold govt accountable’

Former National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, has said it was their duty as an opposition party to make sure the government of the day pronounce the right figures to citizens concerning the state of the economy.

“…Our responsibility as an opposition party was what we did at the true state of the economy meeting few days ago to get Ghanaians abreast of the true state of the economy if the media will not do that,” he said.

According to him, in most cases the media reports just as the government in power declares in respect to explaining issues at hand without making any further research to put out the correct statement.

“We have taken it upon ourselves to prevent government from spreading falsehood, because it is very bad to mislead citizens,” he added.

Speaking on Adom FM, Kofi Adams affirmed they would continue   check the government in power by announcing the real state of any issue the NPP government address falsely.

“We will make sure government declares according to how citizens feel and the state in which they are at a particular time. We won’t allow them make utterances they wish as if they are still in opposition,” he said.
