Victim, witnesses not interested in Kumasi gang-rape case

A Kumasi High Court has subpoenaed two witnesses to appear before it in a case in which four teenagers gang-raped a minor, captured on video and circulated on social media late last year.

The two, the Unit Committee Chairman for Bantama Kwabena Boateng, and Yaw Amankwaa, the tenant in whose house the dastardly act was committed had all declined to willingly appear to testify.

Even the victim, according to our sources has also refused to cooperate with the prosecutors.

“She spent three hours at the State Attorney’s office but will not tell the lawyers anything about how it happened or what they actually did to her,” the sources said.

One of the two witnesses, the unit committee member was arrested and hauled before the court, on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 to give an account of what happened.
