Authorities of the University of Cape Coast have banned dawn quizzes and sale of pamphlets to students.
A statement issued by the directorate of Academic Affairs of the University to the Students Representative Council, referenced EX/14/Vol and dated 20th January, 2018, stated categorically that “the university authorities has officially banned the habit of writing quizzes at dawn”.
The statement urged the entire students’ body, lecturers and the university community that effective yesterday 30th January, 2018, lectures and quizzes shall not be conducted outside the academic board’s approved times (6:30am-8: 30pm).
Earlier, the Student Representative Council (SRC) has advised all students not to consent to writing of quizzes at odd times just because of fear or intimidation from any lecturer, but rather report such lecturers to the directorate of academic affairs or SRC office since it is illegal to do so.
The SRC further reminded the Students that sale of pamphlets in any form or shape remains illegal and that the student’s leadership will rise against any of these without fear or intimidation.
