TMA supports physically challenged

The Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, Mr Felix Annan-La, has challenged people living with disabilities not to see their situation as a setback to achieving their aims in life.

The MCE said this at a programme held by the assembly to present various sums of money to support about 177 persons living with disabilities in the metropolis.

He said the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo wants to ensure that all Ghanaians had decent lives to live.

Mr Annan-La noted that even though a lot of them were already into good businesses, it was the aim of the assembly to assist them to live decent lives.

He said the assembly wants to ensure that they are not found begging on the streets by endangering their lives.

He advised the beneficiaries to put the money to good business ventures.

The Director of Social Welfare at the TMA, Mrs Matilda Mahama, said each person was given between 1000 and 1500 Ghana Cedis.

She cautioned them against using the money for “fufu and light soup,” instead of venturing into productive ventures.
