Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, Mr. Felix Annan-La, has called on residents of Tema to regularly undertake exercises to maintain a healthy body.
According to him, every society needs a very healthy people to help develop their communities.
The MCE said this while addressing hundreds of residents of Tema in Accra after a health walk organised by the TMA as part of the assembly’s restoration agenda on health.
He said part of the restoration agenda would be to improve upon health facilities in the metropolis and to make health delivery readily available to all.
He noted that the assembly has undertaken a lot of sanitation programmes aimed at ridding the city of filth thereby improving on the health and lifestyles of the people.
The MCE also stressed on the need for people to be careful of what they consume as unhealthy foods only increase their risk of health problems.
The health walk started at the forecourt of the TMA, through to communities 4,7,8,9,10,11,5,2 and back to community 1.
Those who took part in the walk included students from the various second cycle schools in the metropolis, security services, workers of the assembly and residents of the assembly.
