Success Story Of BKPM … As it commissions new temple

Origin of BKPM

Bethel Kwabenya Prayer Ministry (BKPM) has really come far in its 16 years journey.

The small prayer camp which was established by Prophet Douglas Nana Tih (aka King Solomon) about 16 years ago has since grown from strength to strength, grace to grace and victory unto victory.

BKPM started as a prayer group at a communication centre with a membership of seven (7); four men and three women at SDA Junction, Adentan in the Greater Accra Region.  After a short period of time, it saw its membership grow, and the prayer group relocated to White House, a suburb of Kwabenya also in Accra through one of its members, Madam Elizabeth Appiah.

As it grew from strength to strength, the Chairman of Bethel Prayer Ministry International (BPMI), the late Bishop Dr Paul Owusu Tabiri, declared the Kwabenya Prayer Camp autonomous.

After the declaration by the late Bishop Dr Paul Owusu Tabiri, the membership grew bigger and larger so, therefore, the leader of the camp, Prophet Douglas Nana Tih, like the Biblical Solomon purposed in his heart to build a magnificent temple that can accommodate more than 10,000 congregants for God. He, therefore, consulted his dear wife, Prophetess Mrs Comfort Abena Tih, who obliged to the husband’s suggestion without hesitation.

After heeding the call of God, Prophet Tih who was a business man sold all his properties including the communication centre at Adentan and bought a land at Kwabenya off the Brekoso road with the money accrued from the sales of his properties.

The New Temple (Solomon Temple)

Speaking to Today in an interview, Prophet Nana Tih said after he became born again, he made a covenant with God that he will first build a cathedral to glorify His [God’s] name before he [Prophet Nana Tih] will build a house for himself.

This promise, he said, through the help of God and his spiritual mentor, late Bishop Dr Owusu Tabiri, “has now been fulfilled.”

He disclosed that initially he had wanted to name the cathedral after his spiritual mentor but he had a dream where God was telling him to rather name the temple after the Biblical Solomon, hence “The Solomon Temple as the name for the new church auditorium.

He said, his dream was collaborated by the late Bishop Owusu Tabiri as he also said, he had the same dream in the previous night about the name of the temple.

“As whatever the mind of a man can conceive and believe he can achieve, and by the mighty hand of God The Solomon Temple which was prophesised by the late Bishop Dr Paul Owusu Tabiri will be commissioned and dedicated to the Glory of God on Saturday, April 20, 2019,” he told Today with smile all over his face.

He recalled that, the late Bishop Owusu Tabiri laid his garment on him, and commanded him to change his name to Solomon which he said, “it is my spiritual name.

“I remember vividly when the late Bishop Dr Paul Owusu Tabiri said to me before his death, “my son the Lord’s Covenant Ark at the Sunyani Prayer Camp has been moved to the Kwabenya Camp, and that signs and wonders will never cease happening here,” he further recalled.

And since that time, he said the prayer camp has experienced tremendous revival and miracles beyond description.

 Projects by BKPM

Apart from winning souls for God, BKPM has also contributed to the development of the country, particularly the community it operates. For instance, it has established a community school where the less-privileged in the community are given free education.

The church also have a sachet water company (Bethel Sachet Water) and a teak and bamboo plantation to aid in afforestation programme by the government.
