Armed robbers yesterday stormed the head office of One District, One Factory (1D1F) and walked away with laptops, desktops, television sets and documents.
The National Project Coordinator for the secretariat, Mrs. Gifty Ohene-Konaduin an interview with the media confirmed the incident and said there were lots of access routes to the secretariat so it was easy for intruders to get into the rooms.
Nonetheless she said, she was surprised that thieves invaded the place and made away with some valuables.
The National Secretariat coordinates and oversees the implementation of the One-District, One-factory programme.
To ensure that the Secretariat achieves its set target, District and Zonal Representatives are available in each district to provide the needed support.
Mrs. Ohene further explained that the thieves even attempted to take portrait of the President; Nana Akufo Addo’s but left it hanging.
“They took individual laptops and company laptops as well and wanted to take Nana Akufo Addo’s portrait that was hanged in the office but later left it hanging’’, she stressed.
Mrs. Ohene said no one could be blamed for the theft now so they were waiting for the police personnel to finish with their investigations.
“You can’t blame the security personnel guarding there now because when such things occur, you have to leave it for the police to handle it and that is exactly what we are waiting for’, she added.
