Quicklets and Zanzi Homes (QLZH), a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has donated assorted books worth thousands of Ghana cedis to the Sarpeiman Municipal Authority ‘2’ Basic School in the Ga West Municipality to help improve learning and teaching activities..
The items which were presented by the Country Manager of Quickelets and Zanzi Homes, Mr Daniel Apaloo, included Junior High School textbooks for mathematics, integrated Science, English Language, Social Studies, I.C.T., and Religious and Moral Education.
In a speech read on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, Steve Mercieca, he disclosed that the QLZH foundation was formed to help with the teaching and learning activities in schools especially in deprived communities.
“The last time we visited Ghana, we were really touched on how students were eager to learn despite the poor learning environment so we decided to form this foundation to help students achieve their goals in life. We promise to come back to support more schools with learning equipment’s,” he added.
The Headmaster of the School, Mr Abel Gallant, thanked Management of QLZH Foundation for their generosity and promised to put the books to good use to enhance effective teaching and learning in the School.
The chairman of the school’s management committee, who spoke on behalf of the committee, expressed his appreciation to the kind gesture and hoped for more support from other agencies.
