Co-partner of Glee Filling Station, Mamudu Amadu has accused the Proprietor of Obek preparatory School in Manhean in the Ga West District of the Greater Accra Region, Mr Emmanuel Oduro of being behind the destruction of his property in the area.
According to him, Mr. Oduro whose school is close to where he intends to site a filling station, has vowed to resist him hence the latter’s move to use the youth in the area to cause mayhem.
Speaking to Today in an interview over the weekend Mamudu Amadu said, he acquired the land in contention legally about 17 years ago before Mr. Oduro came to the area to build his house which he is now using part as a school.
“I was here before he (Mr Oduro) built his school, so I don’t understand why he is bent on stopping me from doing a legitimate business which at the end will give employment to the youth in area”, he said.
He alleged that, the proprietor of Obek school hired some thugs to break his wall and destroy the louvers of his building.
He said, whiles he was waiting for a permit from Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Town and Country Planning (TCP) and the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) under the sponsorship of Glee Oil Limited before he will commence construction work , he further alleged Mr. Oduro went to the chief of Manhyia to resale the said land to him.
According to him, Mr. Oduro is only interested in the land, contrary to his claim that he is against the siting of the filling station.
Mamudu said that at series of meetings that took place in the past at the request of the Manhyia chief, EPA and Anyaa Police Commander, Osei Shaibu, yielded no results as he was not ready to let him use the land for its intended purpose.
At one of the meetings in the presence of the Anyaa Police Commander, Mamudu alleged that, Mr. Oduro who claimed he was a card bearing member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) accused the him of murdering a resident of the area over the siting of the filling station without a proof after being asked to prove the allegation.
He further alleged that, at another meeting with Mr Oduro and Manhyia chief, he threatened to inform the National Security Minister, Mr. Albert Kan Dapaah to use his influence to stop HIM.
Mamudu who was not enthused about the constant harassment by Mr. Oduro and his cohorts anytime he will go to the site appealed to the authorities to intervene.
Meanwhile when Today contacted Obek School proprietor via telephone on Saturday November 11, 2017 , he denied flatly all the allegations levelled against him.
He however, said his contention rather wa , where the yet- to- be completed filling station is sited
“My school is very close to where the yet- to- be completed filling is, and I can’t sit down and watch them do that”, he said.
“My brother (referring to this reporter) we are talking about the lives of the school children who come to school every day”, he opined.
When asked why he would not allow the appropriate authorities to handle the situation having he petitioned them, he said , they were being too slow for his liking.
