Director of Police in charge of Operations of the Greater Accra Regional Police Command, Chief Superintendent Kwesi Ofori, on Saturday, February 9, 2018 rescued Ga Mashie in the Ga State from an impending chieftaincy bloody clash.
This was after the senior police officer had led a team to arrest one Bill Adjiri Solomon, an alleged notorious land-guard, who was being installed as Ngleshie Alata Chief.
Acting upon a tip-off, the timely and swift intervention by the Accra Regional Police Command saw the police arrest a group of land-guards and members of Solomon family from Accra.
A team of policemen stormed the residence in Korle Gonno, adjacent the Mamprobi Tuesday Market and arrested Bill Adjiri Solomon while he was being readied to be installed as the Big-league Mantse.
Bill Adjiri Solomon’s confinement was brewing tension in the area and could have soon escalated into a bloody conflict.
The suspects have been arrested and detained at the Accra Regional Police Command for breach of public peace.
Meanwhile, it has emerged that there are other chief land-guards who engineered and masterminded the whole operation to install Bill Adjiri Solomon as Chief.
