Parliament reconvenes today (Tuesday) for the second Meeting of the Second Session of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic after a six-week break.
This was stated in a release signed by the acting Public Affairs Director, Ms Kate Addo.
According to her, the House will work on a number of items, which include Bills, Instruments, Motions, Referrals as well as Directive from the Rt. Hon. Speaker during the meeting.
Ms Addo explained in the statement that there will be four major motions that have been tabled for debate which, she said, were very important, and forty- nine (49) referrals of bills.
Other items slated for the meeting of the House are nineteen (19) directives to committees by the Rt. Hon. Speaker, as well as notices of questions to be answered by various sector ministers.
Also to be presented are twenty five (25) Instruments of which one (1) is already at the committee level.
Some of the 49 Bills are: Ghana Railway Development Bill, 2018, Occupational Safety and Health Bill, 2018, National Commission for Tertiary Education Bill, 2018, Renewable Energy (Amendments) Bill, 2018, Affirmative Action Bill ,2018, Creative Arts Bill, 2018, Disability Bill 2018 and Ghana Meteorological Agency (Amendment) Bill, 2018 among others.
There are eight (8) other Bills, which are currently at the committee stage. These are Legal Aid Commission Bill, 2017, Witness Protection Bill, 2017, Land Bill, 2018, Right to Information Bill, 2018, Legal Profession (Amendment) Bill, 2018, Ghana Integrated Bauxite and Aluminum Authority Bill 2018, Ghana Cocoa Board (Amendment) BillZ017, and Technical Universities (Amendment) Bill 2017.
