OYFP endorses Akufo-Addo’s move to harness bauxite resources

Ayeman Youth For Development (OYFP), a registered youth association in the Eastern Region, has endorsed the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo plans to harness the bauxite resources in Okyeman and other parts of the country which also include the establishment of a bauxite refinery.

“Indeed it has been the dream of citizens within the Atewa enclave to see the Integrated Bauxite and Aluminum industry firmly established and developed for the benefit of residents in and around the enclave in terms of jobs creation, infrastructure development and other local economic benefits,” the group stressed.

In a statement signed by the leadership of the group in the persons of Nana Yaw Osene-Akwah, Kweku T. Yeboah and Kwabena Abuakwa Samuel and copied to Today in Accra, the group said that it has assessed the Akufo-Addo-led NPP administration for the past eighteen (18) months and can confidently say without any shred of equivocation that the President will deliver to the expectations of well-meaning Ghanaians before his first term of office expires.

“Clearly, we at Okyeman Youth For Development (OYFD) are witnesses to the massive development policies and projects that have been initiated by this government, we subsequently applaud the NPP government for these initiatives,” it said.

A tall list of these, according to the statement, includes the Free SHS, NABCO, 1D1F projects dotted across the country, railway development, construction of agricultural dams in the northern belt, establishment of the 3 development authorities.

The statement pointed out that the current government was not only doing very well in fixing the economic mess created by the previous John Dramani Mahama led administration but also bringing the country back to the development track.

“We are also grateful to the President for the massive road development in the Akyem enclave and the Eastern Region at large.

“The Eastern Region was neglected by the previous administration with little to show for in terms of development. Much as there may be few lapses here and there, we do not necessarily despair but rather believe in the dreams of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who happens to be a son of Okyeman to see to the ultimate development of every nook and cranny of this country,” it noted.
