Otumfuo Lottery Game to hit K’si *To raise funds to develop Asanteman


The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in collaboration with the National Lottery Authority (NLA) is set to organise the Otumfuo Lottery Game with the aim of raising funds to develop Ashanti Kingdom.


A press statement issued by the Public Relations Unit of the NLA disclosed that the Otumfuo Lottery Game will be in the form of raffles and scratch cards to raise funds to support the various socio-economic development initiatives in the Ashanti Kingdom.

According to the statement, a working committee has been put in place to ensure the successful implementation of the Otumfuo Lottery Game.

“Soon the Working Committee together with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Board and Management of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) will officially launch the Otumfuo Lottery Game in Kumasi. The terms, conditions and modalities of the Otumfuo Lottery Game will also be announced by the Working Committee,” it further divulged.

The expansion of socio-economic development of Asanteman, the statement said, culminated in the establishment of the Otumfuo Charity Foundation.

And this Charity Foundation seeks to improve the lives of Ghanaians through the implementation of the values, vision and ideas of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

According to the statement, the OTG is aimed at raising substantial funds to support the Otumfuo Charity Foundation to undertake development initiatives in the area of: infrastructure, education, especially the Otumfuo Mobile Learning Project (OMLP) which serves as a stopgap measure in providing access to the less fortunate children in deprived communities and rural areas across Ghana.

Other development initiatives, the statement added, include quality healthcare delivery, preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.

According to the statement, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has also fully embraced the NLA-private sector led solar-powered e-kiosk project.

The e-kiosk project, it said, will be implemented in all the electoral areas, districts and polling stations in the Ashanti Kingdom hopefully by the end of this year.

Continuing, the statement said the solar-powered e-kiosks will create jobs for the people of Asanteman, improve accessibility to internet connectivity, and with the help of the solar give light to the people in the Ashanti Kingdom, thereby reducing the pressure on the national grid.

The National Lottery Authority (NLA) is fully committed to contributing its quota to the socio-economic development and sustenance of Ghana and Asanteman. The master key to the development of Asanteman and Ghana is the more creative and innovative Solar-powered E-kiosks.
