NPP MPs Deserted Parliamentary Business for their party primaries

Most Members of Parliament (MPs) from the stock of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) yesterday abandoned Parliamentary Business to go and canvas for voter in their bid to win the sole ticket to once again represent their come December 7, 2020.

The NPP is holding parliamentary primaries in all the constituencies they have incumbent MPs on Saturday, 20, June, 2020.

The incumbent MPs who are being fiercely contested at their various constituencies have been missing on the floor of the August House whiles the house is sitting.

This reporter can authoritatively report that the house was deserted completely as there were only ten (10) MPs out of the 169 majority members and 12 MPs out of the 106 minority members in the chamber to transact parliamentary business for the day.

Due to the absence of ministers and committee chairpersons who were billed to answer questions, lay papers and committee reports, the Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, Prof. Aaron Micheal Oquaye had no option than to adjourned sittings.

Business of the House (sittings) began exactly 11:45am instead of the normal 10:00am and was adjourned at approximately eight minutes pass 12 noon.
