With less than a week in assuming office, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam (AEE) District, Mr. Ransford Kwesi Nyarko, has distributed over 2,000 mathematical sets to every candidate who will be writing the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the area.
The gesture, which came just four days of being in office as DCE, will inspire and enable students burdened because of financial constraint to write their examination which begins today (Monday June 5 to Friday, June 9, 2017.)
Presenting the items, the DCE advised the candidates to use this period in burning the midnight candle instead of staying glued to televisions watching telenovelas.
“This is not the time to watch Kukum Bagya but rather concentrate on your books so that you pass well to project the image of the district,” he advised.
Mr. Nyarko also charged the students to seize the opportunity given them to give off their best in order to come out with flying colours.
Receiving the items, the District Director of Education, Mrs. Martha Acquah, was full of praise for the DCE, pointing out that she looks forward to working with him to uplift educational standard in the district.
Ghana Education Service (GES) Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the district, Mr. Bright Abekah-Mensah, noted that the gesture was the first of its kind in the district, noting that it will boost the confidence of the students.
Some of the beneficiaries thanked the DCE for the gestures, noting that they will give the district a good reason to invest more in education.
