The Parliamentary Aspirant for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Amasaman Constituency in the Grater Accra Region and a former Organizer for ‘Zongo for Mahama Women’, Madam Mariam Dzifa Ibrahim has donated a number of items worth thousands of Ghana Cedis to the Mallam Iddrissu Mosque near club 2000 at Amasaman, a suburb of Accra.
The items which include: a number of Holy Qu’rans, plastic kettle (bootah), hand dug-well among others presented to the Mosque is to aid members in prayers.
Speaking at the short but well organised ceremony, Madam Dzifa Ibrahim requested of the Imam of the Mosque, Abdul-Rahaman Mohammed to pray for Ghana due to the economic hardship and bad governance the country is currently experiencing under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led administration.
She also indicated that “since the Nana Akufo-Addo led government took over from the NDC administration this country has known no peace”.
“….the government organised thugs to attack and shot innocent people during Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election”.
Madam Dzifa Ibrahim, a Cadre bemoans that this kind of attitude could plunge Ghana into chaos and anarchy and women and children, and other vulnerable people in the country would be those who would suffer most.
She further pointed out that “…..killing of civilians including Journalists, kidnapping of young children, and strange road accidents that claimed a number of lives including children is alarming under Nana Addo”, to this, she pleaded with Imam Abdul-Rahaman to continue praying for the country.
The Imam, who is son of the late former Amasaman Zongo chief, Mohammed Iddrissu, commended the NDC Parliamentary Aspirant for the items; He hinted that about 70 children are studying under him yet, only a few Qur’an are available; and it is the same Books older people also read in the Mosque.
Mallam Abdul-Rahaman promised to work on her request for prayers.
