National Democratic Congress (NDC) has disqualified Elikem Kotoko and Wonder Madilo from contesting the position of national youth organizer after their vetting.
One other person also pulled out of the race. The unnamed aspirant according to the party did not show up for the vetting, and later served notice he had withdrawn from the process for personal reasons.
Meanwhile the NDC National Organiser, Mr Kofi Adams, however, confirmed the disqualification of Mr Elikem Kotoko and, Wonder Madilo.
Speaking on a local radio station in Accra, Mr. Adams explained the two disqualified persons did not meet the selection criteria.
They are supposed to have held an executive position within the party before contesting at the national level.
“They didn’t meet the selection criteria as we have it in the constitution and the regulations of the party governing the 2018 elections… The other two, per our constitution, are supposed to prove having been executives of the party before, and these two could not prove any executive positions that they have served in the party before.” He stated.
This leaves two people, Mr Brogya Genfi and Mr George Opare Addo as the only contenders for the national youth organizer position.
In another development the party has commissioned various planning committees in preparation towards its upcoming national congress.
The congress, slated for November 3, will see the election of various national executive officers to take over the administration of the party into the 2020 elections.
