Members Of PPC Undergoes Mandatory Covid-19 Testing

Members of the Parliamentary Press Corps (PPC) have undergone a mandatory Covid-19 testing to ascertain their corona-virus status.

The mandatory testing for Covid-19 is part of various measures being put in place by the leadership of Ghana’s Parliament to stop the spread of the novel Corona-virus.

It will be recalled that the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Prof. Aaron Michael Oquaye gave a directive to Members of Parliament (MPs) to undergo a mandatory testing for Covid-19 immediately the August House returned from a recess to begin the Third Sitting of the Second Meeting of Parliament.

However, Mr. Speaker’s directive to Members of the House was extended to the staffs, the PPC and temporal workers of Parliament.

To this end members of the Corps today gone through the testing process and are awaiting results.

Our Correspondent, who also went through the testing process, observed that the process which takes a maximum of five minutes to complete went smoothly without any hitch.

Some members who were apprehensive of the Covid-19 testing at the beginning told our Correspondent after going through the testing process that they are of the firm believe that the their results will turn out negative.
