Muse Africa, the number one name in music, urban pop culture and Africa’s millennial engagement platform, has announced nominees for its quarterly social media music awards dubbed: “Bangerz of the Quarter”.
The latter is designed to celebrate the biggest songs that made “MADD” waves on social media, on MuseAfrica.com and across the capital.
Bangerz of the Quarter duration for the second edition started from May, and ended on August 2018.
Speaking about the event, head of editorial for Muse Africa, George Wiredu Duah, said the idea was to celebrate the biggest songs that make us dance, think and relax every quarter.
“The awards started off in the first quarter from January to April and it had winners likes Kidi, Guilty Beats, Kwesi Arthur, Yaa Pono, Stonebwoy Agbeshie and StrongMan”, he noted.
George also mentioned that this edition of Bangerz of the Quarters had added some new categories to the already existing ones such as; Hip Life, hi-life, Reggae / Dancehall, Hip hop, Afrobeats, Introlude and the biggest award – Song of the Quarter.
He indicated that voting for the awards are done on social media – i.e. @MuseAfrica and on the website MuseAfrica.com.
The social media public, he added, will have 60% of the votes while a team made up of DJ and TV/Radio presenters plus Muse Music Curators get 40%.
“…so, King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Kwesi Arthur, Kwesi Slay, Medikal lead this quarter’s nominations while, Wendy Shay leads the female squad,” he disclosed.
