An aspiring chairman of National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Awutu-Senya East Constituency in the Central Region, Mr Stephen Owusu Agyare, has called for unity in the party to help return to power in 2020.
Addressing supporters and sympathisers at Kasoa, Central Region, yesterday after filing his nomination forms to contest the chairmanship slot, Mr Agyare stated that NDC was coming back to power in 2020.
He noted that with his help at the grassroots level, the party would surely assume the reins of government after the 2020 election.
According to Mr Agyare, he has been in NDC for long and helped many people to capture positions within the party.
“So it is now time for me to come on board to take the chairmanship position to mobilise NDC members out there for victory,” he stressed.
He noted that he has observed that for some time now, NDC has not been able to win elections in Kasoa and that a dramatic mobilisation must be done to get more people to vote for NDC to win both the parliamentary and presidential elections.
In this regard, he pledged to engage members of the party who are angry after the party’s defeat in 2016 to come back to form a bigger force to win 2020.
So far Mr Agyare and the incumbent NDC Chairman for the area, Alhaji Habib Dramani, have picked their nomination forms to contest the chairmanship race of the NDC in the Awutu-Senya East Constituency.
