Group commends NHIS for transferring of NDC capo

Prestea Communicators for Development (PCD) has commended authorities of the National Health Insurance Authority, the MCEs for Tarkwa Nsuaem and Prestea Huni-Valley and respective Members of Parliament, and all stakeholders involved in ensuring the immediate transfer of NDC Propaganda Secretary for Prestea Huni-Valley Constituency, Mr Onipa Yeboah.

The group accused Mr.Yeboah of sabotaging the National Health Insurance in Wassa West District, where he was serving as a Public Relations Officer.

“Among several clear evidence, was the fact that the activities of NHIA were almost jeopardised in Prestea Huni-Valley to the extent that we sometimes had to travel to Wassa Akropong, another jurisdiction, to be able to renew our cards or access other subscriptions,” the group in a statement to Today in Accra yesterday noted.

It said, this was very ‘unpalatable,’ and when PCD raised the matter, Mr Onipa Yeboah insulted the “leaders of Prestea Communicators for Development, used unprintable words on them and braggingly said “NHIA will allow him to stay whatever he does, and that PCD leaders should go and enrol themselves on FREE SHS.”

It said the group sees this as good news, a relief, adding that “it is a new window of opportunity to restructure health insurance work in the two municipalities.”

The statement further thanked the authorities and media in Prestea, Bogoso, and Ghana as whole for supporting this battle to ensuring better healthcare for the people of Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal.
