DISTRICT Chief Executive of Gomoa East District Assembly, Mr Solomon Quam, and the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr Kojo Asomaning, have incurred the wrath of a group calling itself Concerned Youth of Gomoa Dominase for performing poorly in the areas of education, health, social intervention, water, sanitation, security and rural electrification.
According to the youth, the performance of the Gomoa East DCE and MP in other sectors was equal abysmal which largely makes the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo unattractive for all in the district, saying that the two cannot visit some of our communities for 2020 campaign.”
He noted that if care was not taken immediately, the actions and inactions of the DCE and MP would thwart the fortunes of the party in the upcoming 2020 general election, saying that, the two have not only lost touch with the entire membership of the party but the whole district.
The youth said the gross disrespect shown by the DCE to residents in Gomoa Dominase was an affront to sabotage the NPP’s chances in the upcoming general election.
They added that Mr Quamhas has been the worst performing DCE who has failed in implementing the assembly’s mandatory mission to improve the quality of life of the people, which situation has made the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo unpopular in the area.
“We the youth of Gomoa Dominase in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region are calling on the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to as- matter of urgency- call the District Chief Executive of Gomoa East Assembly, Mr Solomon Quam, and the member of Parliament, Hon Kojo Asomaning, to order.
“Mr President, our DCE in conjunction with the Member of Parliament have decided to blacklist Gomoa Dominase from the share of the national cake, depriving us from what is due us. Mr President as you told us last to be citizens not spectators, we the youth of Gomoa Dominase would like to draw your attention to some activities by the two,” the youth said in a statement.
The statement, which was copied to Weekend Today, asserted that the chiefs and people of Gomoa Dominase have offered eight (8) acres of demarcated and registered lands for the construction of a district assembly office complex but the assembly has neglected this offer and instead seized the Potin JHS park for the project.
According to the statement, JHS pupils will be compelled to join the primary section which will distract teaching and learning.
