ELECTION 2020: Petitions, Parliament and President-Elect

The MEDIA failed Ghana and Ghanaians by not focusing on the important issues till they were resolved…

*The MEDIA betrayed the PEOPLE.*

The issue of Santrokofi, Akpafu, Likpe and Lolobi otherwise known as *SALL* has been known for so long, yet was not brought to closure because the either MEDIA was negligent in their gatekeeper role or disinterested in being the Fourth Estate of the Realm.

There have been a series of issues in which the MEDIA have not been impartial, diligent nor impartial thrusting upon us the avoidable situation of a flurry of ELECTION PETITIONS, crisis in Parliament and a raging controversy over who is the legitimate President-Elect.

A few classic cases include the following which threatens our very existence as a serious democratic republic;

1. *SHOOTINGS, MURDERS and violence under cover of State Security:*

The above are attributes usually associated with despotic regimes in hermit banana republics, *but is currently the norm in HIPC Ghana.*

The issue of Ayawaso West Wuogon shooting, the Hawa Koomson shooting and now the ELECTION 2020 SHOOTINGS are a blot on Akufo Addo’s Presidency.

Akufo Addo refused to act on the recommendations of the Commission of Enquiry into the Ayawaso West Wuogon shooting spree, refused to sack or investigate his Minister Hawa Koomson when she went on a shooting spree during the Voters Registration exercise and is pretending that the ELECTION 2020 SHOOTINGS do not required a Commission of Enquiry similar to the Ayawaso West Wuogon Commission of Enquiry.

That State Officials or persons including party militia in State Security uniforms can go on shooting sprees, kill and injured Ghanaians under Akufo Addo’s watch and the media looks on, in and of itself breeds violence on the MEDIA itself.
2. *DEATH THREATS by people in positions of authority:*

The issue of the murder of Ahmed Suale vis a vis Kennedy Agyepong’s endless threats have not thoroughly been dealt with by the MEDIA.

*The hypocrisy of the Joy FM Super Morning Show*_was very evident on its Monday 28th December, 2020 Edition._
_
Their discussion of the threat on Manasseh Azure and the gruesome murder of Ahmed Suale was devoid of the mention of Kennedy Agyepong nor his role in the murder of Ahmed Suale or his continuing threats on the lives of other persons.

The MEDIA has allowed the Police and Attorney General to get away with not confronting the obvious – *Kennedy Agyepong*.

He was not properly investigated, interrogated nor prosecuted.

Kennedy Agyepong’s recent contempt case and how it was handled has emboldened him and others like him, believing that not even the Judiciary can stop them.

*Kennedy Agyepong has recently, publicly, gon on air to threaten DEATH and ARSON on Former President John MAHAMA, the NDC General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Former National Security Coordinator Col. Larry Gbevlo Lartey.*

There is also an active copycat phenomenon of others including an NPP clergyman recently repeating the Kennedy Agyepong threatening on TV which has gone viral on social media.

The silencing and MURDER of critical voices were preceded by *Akufo Addo’s own clampdown on critical voices and closure of critical MEDIA HOUSES – RADIO GOLD* and 130 others.
3. *MEDIA COMPLICITY and duplicity if PROJECTING false ELECTION RESULTS:*

A section of the MEDIA chose to broadcast false, flawed and fraudulent unverified ELECTION RESULTS to the public as though they were their independently COLLATED RESULTS directly from their reporters or correspondents on the grounds.

Even after these projected MEDIA RESULTS were found to be False, *the MEDIA have not done the needful of an apology, retraction and putting out the COLD HARD TRUTH.*

TV3 gave NPP 149 Seats in Parliament, where they got that collation remains a mystery.

Several other stations parroted fake and falsified RESULTS from the NPP and EC which has since changed RESULTS multiple times.

*There is incontrovertible evidence that the Techiman South Results was not never COLLATED*, nor copies of the Declaration Form made available to the political parties neither was a copy posted at the Collation Centre as required by law *yet the MEDIA is not bringing finality to the matter.*

The many EC calculation errors are being excused by the MEDIA as though it does not impact the outcome nor affect the declaration of a winner in the ELECTION.

*The ERROR-RIDDLED-GAZETTE publication* Which did the rounds on Social Media before the contradiction between the EC Chairperson and the MD of the Ghana Publishing Company on the publication has been excused by the MEDIA to allow correcting of the ERROR-RIDDLED-GAZETTE under heavy military and Police guard,.during the long Christmas holiday weekend.

The MEDIA have aided and abetted the EC and NPP in falsifying possible EVIDENCE which will feature in the upcoming ELECTION PETITION by shifting the spotlight and deliberately avoiding necessary scrutiny.

A section of the MEDIA have not exhibited the urgency required to avert the looming Constitutional Crises arising out of the actions and inactions of the Government, Parliament, EC, Police and Ghana Publishing Company among others, culminating in the different crises that have become apparent in the course of the 2020 ELECTION.

*It is refreshing that the NDC is finally going to COURT following the GAZETTE of the ELECTION 2020 RESULTS however flawed.*

Note that until the GAZETTE of ELECTION RESULTS no party can go to COURT.

Going to COURT does not freeze other legal and constitutional rights such as the right to assembly, association and demonstration.

*It is also refreshing that the PEOPLE of Santrokofi, Akpafu, Likpe and Lolobi are seeking legal and constitutional answers to their plight with a Supreme Court determination in the offing.*

It is HOWEVER, unconscionable that a Court Bailiff was kidnapped and beaten, his Court documents and personal belongings forcefully taken by hoodlums for attempting to serve Peter Amewu *(a serving Minister of State)* restraining him from holding himself as the elected Represented of HOHOE;

*The Hohoe Constituency ELECTION RESULTS should have included the VOTES of the SALL Area who were being deliberately disenfranchised* hencd Peter Amewu is injucted until the outcome of a Court determination.

*Will the MEDIA stay with this or treat it like the National Security operative from the Office of the President who went on the Shooting spree at the Ablekuma Central Collation Centre?*
Now to the fate of the EC.

Dr. Afari Gyan was rebuked for Registering Ghanaian NHIS Card holders as voters…

Mrs. Charlotte Osei was rebuked for a New Logo; *and eventually removed for far less…*

Both Afari Gyan and Charlotte Osei would have been removed as chairpersons of the EC for far less than what Jean Mensa has done.

*Gross incompetence has been demonstrated by the Jean Mensa-led EC from;*

1. irregularities in referendum on the creation of the New Regions,

2. violent at the Ayawaso West Wuogon bye-election,

3. botched referendum on the election of DCEs,

4. messed up NIA GhanaCard use

5. exclusion of Birth Certificate,

6. needless New Voters registration exercise through to

7. fatally flawed 2020 ELECTION with its comedy of errors.

8. Procurement breaches as alleged by several CSOs.

9. the Constitutional Crisis it has plunged Ghana into.

*It is therefore gratifying that Akufo Addo will be receiving the Article 146 Petition for the Removal of Jean Mensa as Chairperson of the Electoral Commission.*

It will be very significant to see how quickly the President acts as CONVEYOR BELT on the Jean Mensa Article 146 Petition relative the the Charlotte Osei Article 146 Petition.

*It will be even more interesting to see how quickly the Chief Justice deals with the Article 146 Petition for the Removal of Jean Mensa relative to his predecessor on the Removal of her Predecessor.*

The MEDIA will be watched closely by Ghanaians.

*CITIZENS WILL BE OBSERVING HOW THE MEDIA COVER THIS PETITION FOR THE REMOVAL OF THE EC CHAIRPERSON.*

Similarly, citizens will be following *LIVE MEDIA COVERAGE OF THE ELECTION PETITION FROM THE COURT ROOM.*

God Bless Our Homeland Ghana.
*AMEN!*
