District Chief Executive (DCE) of North Tongu District Assembly in the Volta Region, Mr Collins Richard Arku, on Thursday, November 1, 2018 donated twenty (20) dinning tables and forty (40) benches to the Mepe St. Kizito Senior High Technical School (SHS).
The donation, according to the DCE, would go a long way to solve the dinning hall furniture problem of the school to facilitate effective teaching and learning thereby bringing about quality education.
Addressing the students, Mr Arku reiterated his commitment to work with the key stakeholders in educational front and the Member of Parliament (MP) to ensure quality education for all children of school-going age in the area.
He tasked the students to make good use of the items to achieve its intended purposes. The DCE who is very passionate about education urged the students of St. Kizito SHTS to endeavour to take their studies seriously in order to become the future leaders of the country. He advised them to desist from deviant behaviours that will affect their future and respect their parents and also be God-fearing.
He used the occasion to encourage the teaching staff to work hard. The DCE also urged the teachers to take good care of the future leaders of the district.
He pledged the assembly’s readiness to commit more resources in providing education facilities to improve quality education for the area.
The students and teachers of the school were grateful to the DCE for the gesture and promised to handle them with care. They were also thankful to the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who was represented by the DCE for being sensitive to their needs.
