Blows at NDC meeting at Awutu Senya East

There was a near bloodbath when an aggrieved Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Awutu Senya East Constituency of the Central Region, Mr Amadu Tuariq, traded blows and insults with the Chairman of the party in the area, Alhaji Habib Dramani, during a meeting.

The fracas was said to have occurred on Sunday, May 20, 2018, when Alhaji Habib Dramani accused Mr Amidu Tuariq of extorting money from the incoming Constituency Chairman of the NDC, Mr Agyare.

Amadi Tuarip was angered when the chairman described Mr Agyare as a land guard by Alhaji Habib.

It was also disclosed by an informant that the communication officer pulled acutlass in an attempt to butcher their party chairman.

Mr Habib, who has been the Chairman for the NDC in that constituency for over 22 years, questioned why some of the party executives were supporting a land-guard to contest him as a party chairman.

According to the informant, Tuariq Amadu told the chairman that the battle between the two had just started.

But responding to the allegations in an interview with Today via telephone yesterday, Mr Tuarip stated that nothing of that sort happened between him and his chairman on Sunday, May 20, 2018 as claimed by their critics.

According to him, the news came out as a surprise to them, saying that the said meeting ended without any scuffle.

“But we suspect that the information circulating on social media that I (Tuariq Amadu beat up my Chairman was the hand works of the executives of the Awutu Senya East branch of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to create an impression that we are fighting amongst ourselves ahead of our in-coming constituency executives election,” Mr Tuarip alleged.
