Bawumia on streets of London [Video]

Photos have emerged of Ghana’s Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and his wife, Samira on the streets of London where he had been on medical leave since last week.

The Vice President took a medical leave to the UK after he reported for work unwell on Thursday, January 19, 2018.

The Minority in Parliament led by Haruna Iddrisu had called for more clarity from the Presidency with respect to his health status after the Flagstaff House said he will be away for some time.

But on Newsfile on Joy FM on Saturday, January 27, 2018, host, Samson Lardi Anyenini, displayed live, photos sent to his phone showing Dr. Bawumia and Samira taking a walk on the streets of London.

Earlier on the programme, Information Minister, Mustapha Hamid, revealed he had a conversation with Dr. Bawumia whom he said was doing “very well” and “will be back home very soon.”

Also a leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko on Friday, January 26, 2018 on his Febook wall posted that Dr. Bawumia was doing well.

According to him, Dr. Bawumia, was not in a hospital as being published by some opposition tabloids.

Describing as ‘sweet moments’ the visit he paid the Vice President, Mr. Otchere-Darko indicated Dr. Bawumia was soundly enjoying his sick leave in the UK.

“…I’m told hospital staff are very unhappy. Many Ghanaians are trooping there to see a patient they’d never heard of, not even his picture rings any visual bells. Don’t believe what you read in NDC news”, he wrote on Facebook.

Mr. Otchere-Darko said he did not see any nurse or a doctor around Dr. Bawumia as rumored when he had the opportunity to visit the Vice President at his ‘small decent’ rented apartment.

“…Well, I’m in London and have had opportunities to spend some good, jovial and intellectual sweet moment with Dr. Bawumia but far from the view of any nurse or doctor, in some small decent flat he has rented for the very short time he is away here on leave”, he said.
