Atebubu Traditional Council bans NDC Aspirant from campaigning on their land

The Atebubu Traditional Council in the Bono East Region has placed a ban the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Aspirant Mr. Sanja Nanja from campaigning on their land.

The chiefs and elders of the area yesterday sacrificed sheep to the gods in the open to officially signify the enforcement of the ban of the NDC Parliamentary Aspirant who is the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Atebubu/Amantin  Constituency in the then Brong Ahafo region now Bono East region.

According to the “Nsumankwaa hene” of Atebubu Traditional council Nana Kofi Amoakohene who performed the sacrifice stated that Mr. Nanja insulted the Queen mother of Atebubu, Nana Afuah Donyina II some years back and when Mr. Nanja’s attention was drawn to his unacceptable behaviour and was asked render an apology the Queen mother and also purify the gods for desecrating the Queen mother as well as the land but failed to do so.

“The sacrificing of the sheep today is to purify their stools, the gods of the land and also ban Sanja Nanja from campaigning on our land for disrespecting the Queen mother” he noted.

The Nsumankwaa hene of Atebubu further explained that after the purification which is known as “Kodwane” Mr. Nanja is not supposed to see any chief of Atebubu Traditional area.

According to him all the sub-chiefs in area have also been directed not to entertain Mr. Nanja in their palace or locality. Any chief who will be seen or caught engaging in any activity which involves the NDC Parliamentary Aspirant shall be destol. Nana Kofi Amoakohene warned.

However, he stated emphatically that they (Chiefs and elders) are not against NDC as political party but rather have problem with only Sanja Nanja as a person.
